What
the Deal Is
|
Test your culinary skills against
other OCC “would be, think they are” chefs and personalities; see who can
actually create something edible. This “down and dirty”, “no holds barred”,
one of a kind contest will premier Tuesday, January 12th in the
OCC lounge.
Oakwood’s first Iron Chef will be crowned on February 23rd. All
members who think they have cooking skills, however delusional that may be,
are eligible to compete. However, the Club will not be held responsible for
any consequent embarrassment or retribution that may occur.
Each Tuesday’s challenge will
feature a specific gastronomic theme with each competing chef required to prepare
at least one dish characteristic of the featured genre of cooking. The dishes
will be made available to members happening to be in the lounge
on a given Tuesday evening. Dishes may be prepared in a place of the
competitor’s choice; home kitchen, hood of a Jeep, ….. whatever works! All ingredients except those with
psychotropic qualities may be employed.
Each chef may prepare side dishes but will be judged on
one featured dish. Dishes will be judged by members in attendance with
each chef being awarded points on the basis of taste, originality,
and presentation. There will be no grievance procedure or
instant replay. The three highest scoring dishes on a given Tuesday
will be designated Best Dish, Runner-up and Honorable
Mention but all points accumulated by each chef will carried
forward throughout the competition.
The six chefs with the
highest point totals after the February 16th competition
will compete on February 23rd for the coveted title of OCC
Iron Chef! In order to be crowned “Iron Chef” you must participate in a
minimum of three competitions. Sign up now - space is limited.
