Oakwoods Country Club is nestled at the foot of the beautiful Brushy Mountains in Wilkesboro, NC. The club is known for its beautiful and challenging golf course offering some of the best greens in northwest NC. The scenic views and serene setting make this course as appealing to the eye as it is fun to play.

In addition to its fine course, OCC has a driving range, Pro Shop, full service restaurant, member lounge, locker rooms for both men and women, and a recently renovated swimming pool. The Pro Shop offers a complete line of men's and women's apparel, pro line golf equipment, lessons and rentals. The driving range is within 50 yards of the course and is the perfect place to practice before setting out for an enjoyable round of golf. Established in 1954, OCC is a club with a proud and significant past, but most importantly, a club with an exciting future. Recent years have seen major improvements to the clubhouse and golf course. OCC is committed to treating members and visitors fairly and with great respect.

OCC Announces a Membership Recruitment Plan for 2009 - 2010

Effective October 1, 2009 - September 30, 2010 new members and former members who qualify may join OCC at the following low rates:
 

These dues are promotional rates and require a (3) three year CONTRACT with OCC. These rates shall be effective for two (2) consecutive years beginning on the date the OCC Board approves the application, with rates in the third year of the contract rising to amounts paid at that time by existing members. These rates are available only to those making three year commitments to the Club between October 1st, 2009 and September 30th, 2010. These rates are not available to anyone who has been a member of OCC within 365 days of the date of application, or was a member on September 14, 2009.

Membership fees are billed in advance the 1st of each month for the following month. Fees shall be due and payable on the first day of the month following the month in which the statement is dated and mailed. For example, if the statement date is October 4th, fees are due November 1st. Fees shall become delinquent 30 days after becoming due and payable if still unpaid. The names of all members judged to be delinquent by the Club’s Controller shall be posted on clubhouse doors immediately. After due notice of indebtedness and a request to pay has been given to any member, and the account of said member becomes delinquent as defined above, the Board shall have the power to suspend or terminate the membership of said member.

OCC Announces a Pool Membership Option for 2009 - 2010

Per the motion approved at the special membership meeting Monday, March 8th regarding the establishment of a seasonal pool membership, the following has been approved by the Board as a definition of a seasonal pool member and a procedure for billing. This is a temporary, one-year membership class applying only to the current fiscal year so this class would exist only by process, not bylaw. The efficacy of this class will be re-evaluated by the OCC Board for fiscal 2010 -2011 which begins October 1, 2010.

A Seasonal Pool Member shall be a single person or a legally married couple who are not members of Oakwoods Country Club on March 1st 2010, inclusive of any children as defined in Article 2, Section 2, Item 1 of the Club’s bylaws, who are allowed to use all OCC facilities exclusive of the golf course, putting green, practice range, and lounge. Seasonal Pool Members shall be allowed to bring guests in accordance with the Club’s current guest policy applicable to other membership classes. Seasonal Pool Members shall have no right to vote on Club matters and shall pay an annual, non-refundable fee of $500. The number of seasonal pool memberships shall be limited to fifty (50) for the 2009 – 2010 fiscal year. If one contracts for a pool membership prior to May 29th such person(s) will pay the full $500 fee, whereas if one contracts for a pool membership May 30th – June 30th the fee will be determined on a pro-rata basis by dividing $500 by the total number of days in the pool season and then multiplying by the number of days left in the season. As a general rule pool memberships, will not be available after June 30th. However, the Board at its discretion may consider applications after this date on a case by case basis.

Any applications submitted subsequent to June 30th will subject to a flat $342 fee. Prospective Seasonal Pool Members shall be required to complete an application, be approved by the Board, and adhere to all OCC rules, regulations, and Bylaws. The applicable pool membership fee must be paid in full on the date of application. The Board will approve no applications not accompanied by full payment of the annual dues.
