Super Bowl Scramble

May call pro shop until 5 pm Feb 4 to register for this two man captains choice event that is flighted using the Callaway system. Saturday signup is $40. Create your own team for the 1:00 shotgun start. Blue white tees are together, gold tees for anyone 62 and older. Entry fee entitles you to 1 mulligan, 1 throw, 1 red tee for men, 1 junior tee for ladies. Payout places determined by size of field. Hang around after your round for a great super bowl party.

Masters Tournament

Signup and book tee times for $30 by calling the pro shop before 5 pm on Thursday April 5. Friday signup before 5 pm is $35. Teams are flighted using 75 percent of the USGA handicap index. Choose a PGA partner before your Saturday tee time. Your Saturday OCC score combined with the Saturday and Sunday PGA score will determine the winner. An optional buy in at $20 per team and $10 per team skins game are offered. Anyone 62 or older may play from the gold tees and handicaps will be adjusted according to tees played.

Spring Member Member

The entry fee is shown per team for this two person competition, better ball on Saturday and Texas Scramble on Sunday. Flighted after Saturday round. Flight winners compete in a handicapped shootout to determine the overall winner. There will be a flight based team buy in for Saturday play, Sunday play, and overall. There is a 10:00 shotgun start on Saturday and 12:30 shotgun start on Sunday. Lunch will be served on both days. Players 62 years or more in age whose handicap and age totals at least 80 may play the senior tees. Sign up in the pro shop before closing or online before midnight Wednesday, May 18 and get a $5 discount per person. Prizes awarded to one third of the field.

Ladies Member Member

Entrants in this event must be members of the Oakwoods Ladies Golf Association. This two person team format will be a mix of better ball net and scramble. Tee times are set for Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon.

OCC Fundraiser

Create your own team for this event that is a four man captains choice using the Callaway handicap system. Entrants may sign up as individuals and will be paired with other individuals to create a team. Field is limited to the first 32 teams, 128 players. Everyone, players and non players, are encouraged to be a hole sponsor for $50. A 10:00 shotgun start gets you to the turn at a good time to enjoy a hamburger or hot dog for the back nine. Closest to the pin on all par threes and long drive for men, women and seniors. Senior tees for anyone 62 or older, with mulligans and red tee purchases available. Online registration closes at 5 pm on Monday, June 6 and there is no discount.

Fourth of July Scramble

Our annual captains choice event for the national holiday. Tees are assigned using USGA handicap with senior tees an option for anyone at least 62 whose handicap and age combine to total 80 or more. You may sign up in the clubhouse before closing on Wednesday June 29, or online before midnight Wednesday June 29 and pay $30 per player. Juniors 14 or less play for $20.

Mens Member Guest

All registered participants allowed to play 1 practice round prior to event for cart fee only. The event costs $375 per team and participants must register no later than Wednesday, July 14th. Your entry fee entitles you to lunch and dinner on Friday, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, with breakfast and lunch on Sunday. Other festivities include a Calcutta on Friday night and DJ on Friday and Saturday night, with an awards ceremony following the tournament on Sunday. The availability of Friday tee times is determined by the order in which entry fee is received, first paid, first choice. There will be a $25 raffle for an entry into 2012 member guest.

First Rounds Match Play

After opponents have been determined you may choose either morning or afternoon starting times on Saturday for the initial match and Sunday for second round matches. The tournament concludes on August 28 with tee times starting at 2:00 for the final matches. Players may compete in either a seeded gross or seeded net division. Participants will be placed in flights of eight, except for the top flight in the gross division which may expand to 16 with sufficient entries. Tournament handicaps will be set using an average of the USGA handicap and the LI, lowest handicap for the most recent twelve months. Entrants having a tournament handicap of 4 or less must compete in the top flight of the gross division. These guidelines may be amended as the number of entries warrant.

Club Championship

Two concurrent tournaments, a 2 day tournament, the Oakwoods Cup, with entry of $50, to be held on Sat and Sun, and a three day event, the Club Championship, with entry of $60, to be held Sat through Mon. Both fees, exclusive of cart fee, include light snacks after play on all days. Carts not mandatory, caddies allowed. Participants in the two day event will be competing in both a gross and handicapped competition, flighted after 1st day, senior division for 55 and older. The three day event is gross stroke play, flighted after second day, with participants using red, gold, or blue tees. The individual competing from the blue tees who has the best score will be crowned Club Champion. The lady, junior, or senior medalist in the 3 day event will be crowned champion of their group. No one may compete in both events.

Bill Greene Cup

A tournament in memory of our former pro using the format that he requested. Handicaps will be used to categorize all entrants as A, B, C, or D players with names randomly to create a team. Handicaps do not apply and the format will be the combined score of a marker ball rotated among the players in a specified order and the best ball of the other three players. Tee times start at 10, with closest to the pin on all par threes and a straightest drive competition on one of the holes. Deadline to enter is 12 noon on Friday, September 22. Participate and honor our PGA Professional Emeritus. A $5 discount ends at closing in the pro shop on Wednesday September 21 and online at midnight, September 21.

OLGA Invitational

Oakwoods Ladies Golf Association members may invite up to four guests. The format for this team event is low gross and low net among the four lady teams with prizes awarded to approximately one half of the field.

Fall Member Member

$130 per team and $5 per person discount when registering in the pro shop before closing October 5 or online before midnight Wednesday October 5. 18 holes of golf each day, round robin, two person, better ball, match play, one point per hole, with max of three points for each of first three matches. Flighted using sum of handicaps. If hdcp differential is 10 or more, team hdcp will be low hdcp plus 10. Handicap of 0.0 will be assigned to entrant with no established handicap. Overall winner crowned via handicap based alternate shot shootout of all flight winners. Top two flights play blues, white otherwise, gold tees if age plus handicap is 80 or greater. 4 teams per flight so field will be set using multiples of four.

Tough Day

A captains choice event that lives up to its name. Register in the pro shop before closing or online before midnight on Wednesday, October 26and play for $30. Call the pro shop to reserve your tee time. The field will be handicapped using 40 percent of low handicap, 30 percent of next lowest, 20 percent of next and 10 percent of highest handicap with prizes awarded to one third of the field. Blue and white tees together with senior tees an option for anyone 62 or older.
