OCC Club Policy

Approved by the OCC Board of Governors

I-General Policy

1. Compliance- OCC Club Policy, as contained herein, has been approved by the OCC Board of Governors and may be amended or suspended, as appropriate, by the Board. The Board shall ensure that all policy conforms to OCC Bylaws. All members shall have access to, and abide by, current OCC Bylaws and Club Policy.

2. Behavior- Inappropriate behavior or conduct by a member, the member’s family members or guests will be addressed by the Board according to the Bylaws. Any illegal activity conducted on Club property will be dealt with by the Board in an appropriate manner. No individual currently on any sex offender list will be allowed on OCC premises.

3. Animals- No animals, except dogs recognized as service animals under Titles II and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, will be allowed inside the OCC clubhouse. Furthermore, any animal on OCC property will be directly restrained and/or contained by the animal’s owner so as to not pose a threat of damage or injury to anyone. The owner of any animal causing damage or injury, while on OCC property, will be held directly liable. 

4. Indebtedness- Indebtedness to the Club, as defined by the Bylaws, will be dealt with accordingly. The following policy will govern late payment of dues: Any dues not paid within 30 days of their due date will be assessed a $25 late fee. Any member who has not paid their dues within 45 days of the due date will be suspended. Members will be reinstated by approval of the Membership Committee when the account is paid in full. Suspended members will be prohibited from using any club facilities. The names of suspended members will be given to the managers of the Pro Shop, Lounge, Pool and to the Social Committee and updated accordingly. During the time the member is suspended, dues shall continue to be charged. Members with delinquent accounts 60 days or more past due may have their membership terminated. Repeated instances of delinquency may result in the member being required to maintain a credit card on file that will be used to keep dues up to date. The charge date will be determined by the Club.

5. Redress- Any member, who would like the Board to address an issue or complaint, may do so by contacting any Board Member or the Clubhouse Manager/ Director of Golf with the necessary information, which will be presented to the Board at the next regularly scheduled Board meeting. If the issue is of an urgent nature the information will be disseminated to the Board by e-mail or telephone to determine a solution.

 

 

II- Clubhouse/ Lounge Policy

1. Access/ Hours of Operation- All members in good standing and social members, as described by the Bylaws, eligible family members and guests shall have access to the clubhouse and lounge during regular hours of operation. All members and guests may use the Lounge area while the Kitchen is serving food, however, once the kitchen has closed for the day, no one under the age of 18 shall be allowed in the Lounge when the bar is open. Hours of operation will be determined and approved by the Board. This information will be posted on the OCC website and in appropriate areas of the clubhouse. These hours may vary seasonally. Members will be notified of any disruption of normal operating hours, due to weather or any other necessity, as soon as possible. This notification will be in the form of e-mails and posted notices in appropriate areas as necessary.

2. Guest Policy- All guests that come into the OCC Lounge must be signed in by a member. The sign in book will be posted near the entrance to the Lounge. Any guest will have the ability to enjoy the Lounge area up to 12 times in a calendar year.

3. Prohibited Activities- Only employees of the club are to be behind either bar areas. The clubhouse is a smoke free facility. Designated smoking areas have been established outside the front and rear doors. E cigarettes are allowed for anyone 18 or older. No alcohol shall be consumed inside the clubhouse unless purchased from OCC. No one appearing to be intoxicated or belligerent shall be served alcohol. No outside food shall be brought in and served unless allowed by any food service contract that may be in effect. No outside food shall be brought in and sold without approval of the Club Manager. Attire displaying profane or lewd phrases, pictures or symbols is not allowed. Shirts and shoes are required in all areas of the clubhouse except locker rooms.

4. Lockers/ Club Storage- Lockers and/or club storage may be rented, subject to availability, to any member in good standing. The Club is not liable for damage/loss/theft to personal property stored at OCC. The rental fee(s) shall be determined by the Board. Lockers may be shared provided one member assumes responsibility for billing.

5. Clubhouse Rental- Certain clubhouse facilities may be rented to individuals or parties provided a written rental agreement has been signed and appropriate deposits made. The Board shall determine rental rates and approve rental agreement language.

6. Parking- All drivers will park in marked parking places. Failure to do so will result in a warning. Repeated occurrences could result in the vehicle being towed at the owner’s expense. Only drivers with valid handicap passes are to park in handicap spaces. There is no parking allowed in front of the clubhouse door or in the bag drop lane, except for loading and unloading. No parking is allowed in front of the sand storage area. OCC is not responsible for any vehicle damage or theft occurring while parked. Vehicles may be parked in the pool or clubhouse parking lots with overflow parking allowed in the gated area of the cart barn.

 

III- Pool Policy

1. Access/ Hours of Operation- All members in good standing and seasonal pool members, as described by the Bylaws, eligible family members and guests shall have access to the pool.  Anyone using the pool under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The member has the responsibility to notify the pool staff of any guest(s) and to comply with guest policy and fees. Pool season dates, hours of operation and guest fees will be determined and approved by the Board. Hours of operation may vary due to weather, maintenance or any other condition deemed necessary. Hours of operation and season dates will be posted on the OCC website and in the pool area.

2. Guest Policy- All guest must be signed in by a member when they have entered the pool grounds. The sign in book is located at the entrance to the pool. Guest fee is $10.00 per person. In-County guests are allowed 5 visits during the Pool Season. There is no limited to the number of times an Out-of-County guest can visit the pool. Per our By-Laws, residency is based on your Driver’s License.

2. Rules/Prohibited Activities- Pool rules and prohibited activities, as determined by the pool manager and Pool Committee, with Board approval, will be posted in the pool area and on the OCC website.  Violators of pool rules or prohibitions, or anyone refusing to follow pool staff directions, may be asked to leave the pool area. Repeated offenses may result in suspension of pool privileges.

3. Pool Reservation- Members in good standing or seasonal pool members, age 21 or older, may reserve the pool facility for private events. The pool may only be reserved outside regular pool hours.  The member reserving the pool must be present at the event and will be responsible for hiring the required number of life guards and any other fees or charges. Only OCC staff lifeguards may be employed. It is the responsibility of the member reserving the facility to clean up after the event. Staff lifeguards will assist in clean up. Reservations and scheduling must be done through the Clubhouse Manager. 

 

IV- Golf Course/ Practice Facilities Policy

1. Access/ Hours of Operation- All members in good standing, eligible family members and guests shall have access to the golf course and practice facilities. Anyone under the age of 13 playing the golf course must be accompanied by an adult or have approval from the pro shop staff. In county guests are limited to 4 eighteen hole rounds of golf per calendar year. There is no limit to the number of rounds for an out of county guest. A valid driver’s license must be presented to determine guest residency. Pro shop, practice facilities and golf course hours of operation will be approved by the Board and posted on the OCC website and in appropriate areas of the clubhouse. These hours will vary due to seasons, weather, maintenance or other conditions deemed necessary. Members will be notified as soon as possible of any irregular operations.

2. Guest Policy- Members may invite as many guests to play golf as they would like. However, each individual In-County guest is allowed 4 visits in a calendar year. Out-of-county guests do not have a limit as to how many times they can play in a calendar year. Per our By-Laws, residency is based on your Driver’s License. If a member would like their guest to be able to play without the member’s presence, the member must call in the request. Calls from the guest will not be honored. If the guest is playing without the presence of their sponsoring member, the Unaccompanied Rate will apply.

2. Rules/ Prohibited Activities- Rules and prohibited activities will be approved by the Board and posted on the OCC website and in appropriate areas. All golfers must obtain permission from pro shop staff before beginning play. Starting times are required. Starting times may be reserved up to 7 days in advance. In the event of open tee times walk up play may be allowed with pro shop staff approval.  Proper attire is required to access the golf course and practice facilities.

3. Dress Code- Proper attire is required at all times while playing the golf course or using the practice facilities.  Shirts and shoes are required in all areas. On the course, men are required to wear a collared shirt, turtle neck or a mock turtle neck and pants or shorts of appropriate length. No tank shirts, undershirts, tee shirts or cutoff shorts will be allowed. On the course women are required to wear a collared and/or sleeved top, pants or skirt, dress or shorts of appropriate length. No tank tops, halter tops, bikini tops, mini skirts, mini dresses, mini shorts or cutoff shorts will be allowed. No swimsuits or bare feet will be allowed on the practice green.

4. Carts- Cart fees will be determined and approved by the Board. Any one renting or operating a golf cart must be at least 16 years of age with a valid driver’s license. No more than 2 people and 2 golf bags shall be allowed on a cart. No carts and cart path signs must be obeyed. The 90 degree rule is in effect unless otherwise posted. No cart will be rented after pro shop closing time minus 1 hour. Any damage of a golf cart by a member or a sponsored guest will be the responsibility of the member. Repeated violations of golf cart rules may result in loss of riding privileges.

5. Tournaments- All OCC member tournaments and all Board approved fund raising events will be scheduled by the Tournament Committee and posted on a yearly calendar. This calendar will be available on the OCC website. Timely reminders of upcoming events will be communicated to the membership. Fund raising events will be limited in number and any petition for a new event is subject to Board approval. This approval must come at least 30 days prior to the event.  Any member in good standing wishing to sponsor a company, church or private tournament must apply through the Director of Golf for Board approval and scheduling. The sponsoring member will be responsible for all cart and greens fees as well as fees for any clubhouse facilities, if used. Any reduction in normal fees must be approved by the Board. No beverage carts will be allowed at these events.

V- Changing of Membership Classes:

A member whose membership class is one which does not allow for voting in OCC matters shall not be allowed to change their membership to a class which allows for voting in OCC matters within 60 days of a Special Meeting or the Annual Meeting.  A member who chooses to change their membership class not within 60 days of a Special Meeting or the Annual Meeting is required to remain in that class for one year from the date of change.
