Guy W. Carroll, PGA - Director of Golf & Clubhouse Operations
OCC’s Director of Golf, Guy W. Carroll, started his professional career in his hometown of Naples, Florida at The Club Pelican Bay. He began working at The Club in 1991 and worked his way through each position until becoming the Head Golf Professional in 2006. In 2011, he made the transition to North Carolina to become the new Head Golf Professional at Oakwoods and became the Director of Golf & Clubhouse Operations in 2015. Guy attended Appalachian State University during his sophomore year in college and completed his degree in Business Management at Florida Gulf Coast University. He has been a Class A PGA Professional since 2005. Guy and his wife Erica, enjoy cooking and other activities when their schedules allow.
Brad St. Clair, GCSAA - Golf Course Superintendent
Brad began his professional career at Catawba Springs (Lake Hickory) in 1994 after obtaining his Associate Degree in Turfgrass Management. With a passion for the game of golf and the great outdoors he knew he had found his calling. Through the years, Brad worked his way up to Assistant Superintendent at Catawba Springs, Brushy Mountain G.C., and eventually Oakwoods C.C. In April 2018, Brad's dream of becoming a Golf Course Superintendent became reality as he was named Golf Course Superintendent at his beloved Oakwoods. Brad and his wife Sarah reside in their hometown of Taylorsville. Brad enjoys being active at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church where he serves as Deacon and drummer.
Nick Wilcox - Assistant Golf Professional
Nick grew up right here in Wilkes County, in Miller's Creek. After graduating West Wilkes High School, he attended Western Carolina University and graduated with a degree in Sports Management, Business, and Marketing. After college, he started his career in Baseball Food & Beverage Management , working for the likes of the White Sox, Red Sox, Colorado Rockies, and Cincinnati Reds affiliates, the New York Yankees, and most recently, the New York Mets. Upon returning to our area and Oakwoods Country Club, Nick decided on a career change and is currently working through his Level 1 work in the PGA's PGM program, with the goal of attaining his Class A PGA status.
Kandise Harless - Golf Shop Attendant / Dining Room Management
Kandise grew up here in Wilkes County. After graduating from West Wilkes High School, she attended Wilkes Community College, where she studied Computer Programming and Business Education. She also possesses a degree in Cosmetology from Ashe's School of Cosmetic Arts. Kandise worked at Oakwoods as a teenager and loved the atmosphere so much that she returned in 2017. She also enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her husband, TR, and her fur baby, Baxter.
