Brad St. Clair, GCSAA - Golf Course Superintendent
Brad began his professional career at Catawba Springs (Lake Hickory) in 1994 after obtaining his Associate Degree in Turfgrass Management. With a passion for the game of golf and the great outdoors he knew he had found his calling. Through the years, Brad worked his way up to Assistant Superintendent at Catawba Springs, Brushy Mountain G.C., and eventually Oakwoods C.C. In April 2018, Brad's dream of becoming a Golf Course Superintendent became reality as he was named Golf Course Superintendent at his beloved Oakwoods. Brad and his wife, Sarah reside in Taylorsville. Brad enjoys spending time with Sarah and their adopted daughter, Chloe along with being active at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church where he serves as Deacon and drummer.
Nick Wilcox - Assistant Golf Professional
Nick grew up right here in Wilkes County, in Miller's Creek. After graduating West Wilkes High School, he attended Western Carolina University and graduated with a degree in Sports Management, Business, and Marketing. After college, he started his career in Baseball Food & Beverage Management , working for the likes of the White Sox, Red Sox, Colorado Rockies, and Cincinnati Reds affiliates, the New York Yankees, and most recently, the New York Mets. Upon returning to our area and Oakwoods Country Club, Nick decided on a career change and is currently working through his Level 1 work in the PGA's PGM program, with the goal of attaining his Class A PGA status.
Hilda Broyhill - Controller
Hilda Tuckwiller Broyhill grew up in Boone, North Carolina. She received her formal education on the campus of Appalachian State University. She began her career in lending with
Home Finance Group, Inc., which became a subsidiary of Citigroup. In 1989, she transferred as branch manager from Boone to Wilkesboro. She retired from that position in 2000. She spent the next several years traveling, visiting with family and friends, and helping care for her elderly mother. In October 2008, Hilda was asked to assist the accountant at OCC and upon his retirement in 2017, she assumed his duties. In her spare time, Hilda enjoys spending time with her beloved
cat, Kendra, friends, and family. Her hobbies include cooking, reading,
watching UNC basketball, exercising, and traveling.
